WORK EXPERIENCE

With assistance from the Engineering Department I carried out the initial research and development for data collection of information from our PLC data highway system, using communication protocol drivers and programs written by myself I worked as part of the four-person development team on the initial real-time data collection system called 'Setcim'. I Carried out initial research on the Aptech Voice Recognition system and supervised the field tests on the packing line in a Pizza production hall. I have an Understanding of food process control systems with the use of both conventional hardwired and PLC control systems. With some assistance I Converted the bakery suction detinner Texas Instruments PLC system to an SLC500 Allen Bradley PLC System, including re-wiring and re-programming. I have acquired extensive experience of RS232 wiring, from connecting Computer equipment to PLC equipment, Modems and similar equipment. I was intimately involved with the upgrade of our old Oracle-6 system to an Oracle-7 system including application testing and modification. I work as DBA at Findus - Longbenton using Oracle 7 on a HP9000-817S Unix System. As well as being DBA I am adopting a system from another site for Stores / Stock / Issues / Purchasing.
